Xzhariya Naturi

Xzhariya  Henderson is 17 years old and was  born and raised in Titusville, Florida.    She has a huge family on both sides!  Xzhariya also models, enjoys painting, drawing, and photography. Her favorite quote is: “It doesn’t matter who you are, or where you come from. The ability to triumph begins with you” – Oprah.

Xzhaariya has plans to attend college once high school is completed and has her eyes set on Howard University and plans to major in Fine Arts and Dance. She is currently the proud recipient of the  AMDA,Young Artist Fund, Révolutionnaire and has won several trophies, titles, and scholarships through competitive dance competitions.  As a dancer, she is very versatile, and everything comes from the heart and the passion she has for dance.  Some challenges she has over come as a Brown Ballerina include, working as a dane model at a previous workshop.  She believes that opportunities were taken from her  because of her skin color. She feels that she has  also been excluded as a dancer most times, because others believe her melanin is a threat in her dance community.

Xzariya believes that she is set apart as a dancer because she is unique in many ways; not just in how she moves, but how powerful her emotions shows through her dancing.  Her mentors are  “Rena Butler” and “Nia Faith,”  who have inspired her not to let anything get in the way of her  journey. She believes in her future in dance and feels that she hasn’t yet reached her full potential!  She would love to see more Brown Ballerinas become involved and for the appreciation for them, increase.

This Brown Ballerina will be competing at the NAACP Nationals Competition in Boston and may be contacted at:  @Xzhariya.Naturi on Instagram and @Xzhariya Henderson on Facebook.
